Warning: This may make you openly weep. If youre out a bar right now, maybe save this for later. Beers dont mix well with tears.
On Friday night, Hillary Clinton held a conference call with volunteers and told them she was wasnt going to sugarcoat it. The former Democratic presidential candidate was about to get real.
She went on to inform them that these have been very, very tough days.
Yes, Id agree with you on that one, Hill. Ive been a wreck this whole week. In fact, its very, very tough just writing about this.
While bringing up the fact that she managed to win the popular vote, Clinton made sure to press her volunteers toget back out there and keep fighting.
Listen, this is a hard loss for all of us because we know what was at stake in this election and weve got to do everything we can to continue to support the causes we believe in. When youre ready, I hope you will get back out there and keep fighting. I never thought this campaign was about one person or one election.
Shes right. We must never cease to remember thatwhile this is certainly a loss, Hillarys platform still endures if we never stop fighting for hervalues.
This is a tough time for our country. I think weve seen how people have reacted to events of this election and I know that weve got to be reaching out to each other to keep it clear in our own minds that what we did is so important.
Honestly, I cannot imaginehow shes holding it together right now. Thankfully, according to Clinton, thinking about her aidescertainly lifted my spirits over the last few days.
She wrapped up saying,
I believe in everything we fought for, and I believe in you. So thank you all from the bottom of my heart.
No, Hillary. Thankyou.
