The Washington Post confirmed the veracity of the videos, which show a huge explosion on Mount Qassioun, a hill overlooking Damascus.
The specific targets of the attacks are not entirely clear. The first attack by Israeli warplanes was reportedly on missiles that were bound to be delivered to Hezbollah, a Lebanese militant group, according to the Post. The second attack, according to the BBC, targeted an area that houses several military facilities. Journalist Alaa Ebrahim said it felt like a “mild earthquake” and for him it was “the biggest explosion” in Damascus since the conflict started two years ago.
